Butter Chicken


Chicken cooked with Butter

Ingredients
Boneless chicken - 1 kg
Sliced onions - 2 medium
Chopped coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Light cream - 1/2 cup
Butter - 1/2 stick/ 50g
Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp

To marinate

Plain yogurt - 3/4 cup
Tomato sauce - 1/4 cup
Ground cashew nuts - 50g
Chilli powder -1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 1/2 tsp
Ginger paste - 1 tsp
Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Cardamom pods - 4 pods
Cloves - 5
Cinnamon - 1 piece
Bay leaf - 1
Salt - to taste
Chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Preparation
1. Grind, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf into a fine powder.
2. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade, add the cleaned chicken pieces into it and keep aside. 3. Heat a round bottomed frying pan, melt butter and oil , add the onions and fry till they are transparent.
4. Add chicken mixture into it and cook for 10- 15 minutes
5. Add chopped coriander leaves, and mix well and cook till the chicken is cooked well.
6. Pour in the cream and bring to a boil, let simmer for 5 minutes.
7. Serve garnished wish chopped coriander leaves
